BET members expressed what fun and
good exercise the clean up had been
and that it was much better than a gym
workout and the rewarding picture to
see how good a clean Edwin Swales
Bluff Rd intersection looked after the
hard work.
BET member Ivor Aylward however
expressed his disappointment at the
apathy of BET members who did not
join the clean up with only 15
members out of 350 doing the clean
up. Not to mention the thousands of
Bluffites that continually complain
about the mess in our suburb but
do absolutely nothing about the
mess

The Bluff Entrance is a very important
area to keep clean and well maintained
but for some reason eThekwini cannot
achieve this simple task.

BET cleaned up this area on Sunday 6
April 2008 and will continue again on
Sunday 4 May 2008 watch the BET
site for details.

BET calls on its members to join in the
"Clean Up Your Act Campaign" and do
something to ensure the campaign is a
 success.

At the Sunday 6 April 2008 BET
again protested the new Rates in
view of eThekwini's inability to
deliver adequate services to
maintain our suburb.
Look at the list of basic items given to
eThekwini by Duncan Du Bois 14

DBABM-1.html The bottom line is that
there is too much fraud, corruption,
incompetence & lack of ability to do the
job for eThekwini to be handed more
of money to waste!

The BET "Clean Up Your Act"
Campaign
BUST another dirty street
corner on Sunday afternoon. BET
members mobilised and cleaned up
the Bluff Rd / Edwin Swales VC Drive Int
ersection. The intersection looks
fantastic after the clean up! With just a
handful again BET members showed
the Bluff Community that it is not too
difficult to clean up an area and have
some fun at the same time. Clearly
from the growth of weeds in the
curbings and piles of trash and
cigarette butts this area has not been
cleaned for a very long time. It would
be fair to say and that eThekwini is
making absolutely no attempt to
maintain the entrance to our suburb.
Bluff Rd / Edwin Swales VC
Drive intersection looks like
a different neighbourhood.
Bluff residents driving by hooted and
encouraged BET for our efforts, some
people stopped and parked their cars
to express their gratitude that
somebody was finally doing something
to improve the suburb.
BET members celebrate their victory over the
trash bagged in the clean up.

BET Clean Up Again
Others gazed in amazement as BET
members toiled in the hot afternoon
sun. Some people bought and
delivered refreshments to labouring
BET members.
Some people gave us the "Thumbs
Up" but BET feels the support of the
